Summer of Love Local

Summer is finally here - so come on down and celebrate with us at Stroud Green Road’s ‘Summer of Love Local’ this weekend (June 17th+18th). Here at MoseyHome we will certainly never forget the great legacies of the 1960s but with 2017 marking the 50 year anniversary of the all-embracing ‘Summer of Love,’ a bunch of local artists and businesses will be getting together to celebrate the power of art, love and freedom of expression with a weekend packed with live art, free activities, tastings and giveaways from all your favourite shopping destinations on Stroud Green Road.

Drop in to MoseyHome where we’re excited for amazing studioGBD to be doing a pop-up, exhibiting their newest designs, fresh off this season’s design fairs. As usual, there will be great new items in store too - so you might be lucky to find that unique something that your heart and home is crying out for. Here you can also pick up a trail map and get a sticker so that you at the end of the trail will be able to pick up your prize: a well-deserved free drink from the place of your choice; either La Fabrica, The Deli at 80, Walnut, The World’s End or The White Lion.

If you have attended any of our previous talks, we know that this next bit won’t disappoint. In cooperation with The Arts Society, MoseyHome is putting on an unmissable free talk, taking place at the gorgeous John Jones Arts Building on Saturday from 2-3pm. Entitled ‘Summer of Love 60s: Art, Music and Photography,’ this is the perfect way to spend an afternoon if you, like us, never tire of the wonderful photography, art and music coming out of the 60s, and want to educate yourself further.

Overall, the ‘Summer of Love Local’ trail will have something for kids and adults alike. The younger ones might enjoy the Birds of Love + Peace Clay Workshop, the adults might be more interested in the East London Liquor Company Tasting, and for everyone that’s remotely young at heart: how does a chocolate tasting or a balloon demo sound?

Stroud Green Festival will be providing pop-up live music throughout the weekend, so if this is what tickles your fancy, take a look at their program here so you can make sure that you don’t miss out.

North Four has done a wonderful write up of the event too, do check it out on their website

If you are interested in any more information on activities, pop-ups etc. taking place, have a look at the event flyer below - or pick up a hard copy in store.

We really hope to see you there!

Time Out Came In…

If you’ve picked up the latest Time Out magazine, you might have noticed that their Best Bits column this week
is on Finsbury Park - and we’re so excited to have actually made it onto their list of what to check out when
visiting Stroud Green Road!

We (and lots of trusted customers) obviously think that MoseyHome is worth a visit any day but getting a pat on
the back from big league’er Time Out, that’s a real good day for MoseyHome.

We have been operating from our current location on Stroud Green Road for just about 2 years now, and have
loved the area every bit of the way. Our shop has very much grown up alongside the transformation that is
happening in the area, and we are happy to be part of this exciting time.

In doing the write-up, Time Out’s blogger Sonya Barber makes sure to point out that all our stock is “lovingly handpicked”
- and we’re thrilled that this comes across when browsing through MoseyHome as hours on end are spend each week
making sure that we find those special items that will turn your house into a proper home.

So as always, if you happen to be in the area, we would love for you to mosey on in, have a roam around our shop, and if
you happen to leave with that one item that truly speaks to you, that's our day made right then and there.

Themed to within an inch of its life, our vintage room set is our interpretation of a midcentury mix - a 1950s/1960s kitchen, complete with cooker and kettle. We'd love you to mosey over for a chat and a cuppa.
